ShareCAD® is a secure cloud platform for storing, sharing, and viewing CAD/BIM files online. Upload once, then share with teammates or clients so they can view and download from any modern browser.

ShareCAD is built for everyone, from solo creators and freelancers to architectural, engineering, construction, manufacturing, and survey teams working at scale.

ShareCAD supports a wide range of file formats commonly used in engineering, construction, manufacturing, architecture, and design workflows. You can upload and store any file type, and many 2D and 3D formats can be viewed directly in the browser through our Autodesk Platform Services integration.

Supported viewable formats include:

• CAD & BIM: DWG, DXF, RVT, IFC, DGN
• Mechanical & 3D: STEP (.stp/.step), IGES (.igs/.iges), STL, SLDPRT, SLDASM
• Coordination Models: NWD, NWC
• Drawings & Documentation: PDF, TIFF, PNG, JPG

Other file types can still be uploaded, stored, and shared even if in-browser viewing is not currently supported.

Not always. You can share files or folders with public links for quick access, or require login, passwords, and expiration when you need tighter control.

You can upload directly from your browser with simple drag-and-drop, or use our desktop uploader for large folders and bigger projects. Folder structure is preserved so your files stay organized.

ShareCAD is designed for large engineering deliverables, including multi-gigabyte CAD models. Practical limits are based on your plan, bandwidth, and browser or desktop uploader constraints.

Yes. You can upload folders and subfolders. ShareCAD keeps the folder hierarchy intact so your project layout stays familiar.

Your files are stored in encrypted AWS cloud storage in professionally managed data centers. ShareCAD manages access so only the right people can see and download your data.

Select a file or folder, click Share, then choose your options, such as expiration date, password protection, and whether downloads are allowed or view-only. ShareCAD generates a link you can send to anyone.

It stops working. Anyone opening it after the expiry date finds that access has ended, so superseded drawings do not stay reachable from an old email indefinitely.

Not today. The controls on a share are its expiry date, an optional single-recipient email and password requirement, and an optional view-only restriction that prevents downloads. Access reporting is not part of the product.

Yes. ShareCAD is purpose-built for engineering and CAD workflows, with features like model viewing, folder-level sharing, and activity tracking that typical file-sharing tools don’t provide.

Yes. ShareCAD lets you view supported CAD models directly in your browser using Autodesk Platform Services (APS). That means your recipients don’t need CAD software or plugins installed — they just open a link.

ShareCAD integrates Autodesk Platform Services to render supported 2D and 3D models in the browser. ShareCAD manages sharing, permissions, and file storage, while Autodesk’s technology powers the interactive viewing experience.

Depending on the file type and Autodesk’s capabilities, the in-browser model experience typically includes pan, orbit, zoom, measurements, section views, level or layer toggles, and access to model metadata.

Many common model formats can be viewed through Autodesk Platform Services, including popular CAD and BIM file types. View support may vary by format and Autodesk’s feature set.

No. ShareCAD handles authentication and permissions. Recipients do not need their own Autodesk account to view supported files inside ShareCAD.

Not yet. ShareCAD does not currently support in-browser viewing of point clouds. You can still upload and share point cloud files, but recipients will need to download them and open them in their preferred point cloud software.

Yes. ShareCAD uses industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access, and secure authentication to help keep your project data protected.

Files are stored in ShareCAD’s encrypted AWS environment. Autodesk Platform Services may process supported formats for viewing, but your data is managed and controlled through ShareCAD.

Yes. You can optionally require a password for any share link in addition to expiration and download controls.

Yes. ShareCAD supports tenant-based separation and user-level permissions so that each team only sees the projects and folders they’re allowed to access.

ShareCAD is $19.99/month for 2 users, or $49/month for teams of up to 10. People you share files with never need an account and never count toward your seats. For organizations needing more than 10 users, contact sales for Enterprise pricing.

Contact our sales team. We offer Enterprise plans for larger organizations that include SSO, enterprise onboarding, custom agreements, and priority support.

Yes. Model uploads and views are unlimited on all plans. Once a model is processed, you and your clients can open and view it as many times as you need. You can also share links with as many recipients as you like, there are no per-view or per-recipient charges.

For security and auditability, each person should have their own account. Plans are designed to support multiple users per organization.
