What Is an SLDPRT File?

SLDPRT is the native SolidWorks part file format. It contains the full parametric geometry of a single 3D part, features, sketches, dimensions, and material properties, as created in SolidWorks. SLDPRT files are used throughout mechanical product design and manufacturing workflows.

Opening an SLDPRT file normally requires SolidWorks or the limited-function eDrawings viewer. A SLDPRT viewer online through ShareCAD removes that barrier: the part geometry is processed via cloud translation and then renders in any browser for anyone with a link.
